This section tells the story of Raph Bruhwiler who if its hunting season can be found in the forest tracking black tail deer when the surf is not all time. We tried to make this clip as organic as possible not adding to much artificial flair. Raph has also been working with a local Vancouver Island wood surfboard builder Wefi Surfboards on making light weight high performance cedar surfboards, we wanted to highlight Raph’s wefi’s as much as possible in this clip also. Vancouver Island is a pretty amazing place.
SURFER: Raph Bruhwiler is Canadas first professional surfer who is pretty much the most grounded human you will ever meet, and if you are lucky enough to have him as a Canadian surf tour guide, you will score.
FILMMAKER: Adam DeWolfe is from Vancouver Island also and has been shooting photo & video for a while.
MUSIC: Goodnight, Texas, Railroad
ADDITIONAL FOOTAGE: Marty Kukler, “Junior”
SANUK presents “THE WORKIN’ MAN’S WAVE” - IMAGINARIUM 2012
This summer, Sanuk’s crew of delinquent desk jockeys set out to pay tribute to all the nine-to-fivers out there just working for the man and wishing for the weekend. You know who you are. Same shit, different day. Sanuk’s Imaginarium submission is dedicated to you and all the other underdogs and working-class rippers locked away each day in the three-walled prison cells we call cubicles.
Tired of the mundane water-cooler talk, the incessant phone ringing, your boss’ bad breath, the keyboard clicking, and the cackling hens in accounting? Of course you are. That’s why it’s time to break free of your gray flannel jail and discover the oasis you truly deserve.
Let’s chalk one up for the regulars, the early birds, the deadbeat janitors, the number crunchers, the copy-machine cowboys, and even the taco-truck lady who rolls in every day at exactly 11:35 a.m. Let’s chalk one up for every person out there with unfulfilled dreams of a better life. Let’s chalk one up for a vacation from normality. Let’s chalk one up for happiness.
If all you’re getting barreled in is a sea of paperwork, then it’s time to make work your beach. After all, even the worst day in the water is better than the best day at the office.
It’s 9:00 a.m. Time to clock in.
From zero fins to eight, Rasta’s entry for Innersection 2011 makes our toes tingle. Channeling inspiration from the famed Fibonacci sequence (0,1,1,2,3,5,8…), the section showcases this Sanuk teamrider’s uncanny ability to ride anything… and make it look damn good. Enjoy!

Shew! Had we been wearing socks this would’ve knocked ‘em clear across the room…
Meet The Hot 100, Surfer Magazine’s jaw-dropping, shaka-throwing compilation of the best up-and-coming rippers on the planet. Props to Sanuk boys Jack Freestone and Ryan Callinan for making the cut!
